Ruger Bisley 45 Colt/45 ACP cylinder

I have a Ruger New Model Bisley in 45LC with the 7.5" barrel. Question is: Can I get a conversion 45 ACP cylinder from Ruger and use it in this revolver even though it was made for the New Model Blackhawk? Just don't want to spend $80 and wait a month to be disappointed...

Doubtful. Ruger isn't a custom shop. They won't service any model and alter it so that the end result is a non-cataloged variation. No convertible Bisleys so I don't see them doing this.
It's possible a cylinder from a BH will drop in and work fine. Then again it might not. I guess if it's worth it to have one, one of the better 'smiths can do this quite easily.
Another option...buy the BH convetable and Bisley-ize it. (done that myself)

It can't hurt to call Ruger and ask, but in general, if the model was not originally sold as a convertible, Ruger will not sell or make a cylinder for it. Although it might be hard to find and expensive, it is possible, as mentioned, to obtain a used Blackhawk cylinder, but it must be fitted and timed to the new revolver by a qualified gunsmith, as Ruger will not do this, either.

Also worthy of note: if you have action work done to a Ruger and then send it back to them for repair, any parts that were replaced, stoned or polished will be replaced with new ones.

Ruger will not sell a cylinder to a private person --- they may sell one to a FFL , but I don't think they will either.

No convertible Bisleys so I don't see them doing this.

My two Bisley Blackhawk convertibles came with .45 Colt and .45 ACP (fluted) cylinders. I don't see why you couldn't order a .45 ACP cylinder from Ruger ... or try Gunbroker or something.

I have one of the first lot of Accusport SS .45 Colt Bisleys. It didn't have the .45 ACP cylinder. While Ruger would put a SS .45 ACP cylinder in my SS .45 Colt NMBH and a SS 9mm cylinder in my SS .357 NMBH, they wouldn't put a .45 ACP cylinder in my SS Bisley.

Got those Acusport models also, but they were distributor models and stainless not the regular cataloged blued models as the OP has. Perhaps I should've specified that there was a convertible but only as a special run for Acusport and later William's. Regardless, there have been no converible Bisleys and if Ruger still holds to their long-time policy, they will not alter any firearm so that the end result is of a non-cataloged variation.

Why, because there were stainless .45 cal convertible BH's cataloged and there were stainless .357/9mm BH's cataloged. The stainless Bisleys (excluding the .44 Bisley Hunter) were non-cataloged models.

BlkHawk73, thanks for the clarification ... now it all makes sense. It seems like your suggestion to "buy the BH convetable and Bisley-ize it" maybe the best option for the OP.
