Nope, Horrible weapon! Send it to me and I'll get rid of it for you.

Just Kidding. Thats a very nice looking revolver you got there. I am a big Ruger fan myself. Should be good protection incase you run into a dangerous wild Lamborgini while hiking. LOL.

Apology accepted. Once your Ruger arrives (if it hasn't already) I look forward to seeing some of your own photos ... preferably in a setting that is uniquely Italian. Just imagine seeing a photo of a Ruger Redhawk at the Colosseum ... now that would be something.

:)

for 1858

Thank you for your availability. Are you a friend. You know that in Italy a weapon in a public place, is absolutely prohibited. (you end up in jail) are bound to posterity a picture of my 444 after 15 December :) ;)

Sounds good to me. Can't wait for an imaginitive photo from Italy.

Hi Aktarus,
Very impressive artillery you have there. Where would you shoot those hand cannons in your area? What are the markings over the cylinder on the KRH. We are waiting, as I am sure I speak for others, for the results of your first trip to the range. My advice on the KRH with the first shot is get a firm grip, take a deep breath, let it part way out, squeeze the trigger, and enjoy the moment.

Aktarus, well done and congratulations on the Ruger. I'd like to echo ShakyJake's question re the markings on the side of the top strap. Very interesting.

Happy New Year to you and enjoy your retirement!!

:)

for, 1858, Shaky, Walka.

In Italy, all pistols, revolvers, rifles and shotguns purchased new, are recorded in a data bank of a body of state.
These data, if necessary for any investigation, are available to the prefecture and law enforcement agencies.
If I read correctly your question, this is the answer.
The small stars and the initials engraved on top, indicating that the weapon has passed the test and the test has been approved.
On the right side, top, says the year that came into Italy and the classification number of the weapon.
In Italy the weapons are defined, sports, or municipalities. The number C.16968 indicates that the Redhawk is sporty.
You can buy freely both, but the sport is prohibited on the bodies of law enforcement, police and army. for them, only common weapons.

Hi Atkarus
Thanks for the explanation. The one with the star and initials to show passing a test is what we would call a "Proof Mark" I believe. I surely will be corrected if I am wrong:rolleyes:. Sure does scratch up the revolver differently than we do it over here. Our engraving is a bit more artistic.:D I don't see those markings on the GP100, does it have to do with how it came into the country? Commercial vs private maybe. Still hope for a range report.

The incisone unfortunately there is also in GP100, only because he was not seen on the right side, sigh! :( the engravers Italians are still in the "Middle Ages".
All weapons, even those produced in Italy wear "these brands" :cuss:
There are a few importers who do business for many years,:fire: precisely because the Italian law does not provide that a private citizen can buy a gun outside the national territory.
We must always thank God for what we are given. One day it might happen that some ruler decides something strange, and then farewell to all our dreams.:(
As a friend, I hope that in the near future, no one touches the Second Amendment.;)
