A guy i know has a Ruger LCP and uses a keltec mag because they have mags with the extension and kicker to hold oon to better,it fits in the Ruger fine but before i do it with my LCP i wanna know can this damage the LCp the mag catch release or any part of the gun, whats your thoughts?

They look like the same magazine but with a different baseplate. The mag bodies are both the same size, made by the same company, and have the notch in the same place.

It should feed and fire fine, but there will be a gap between the bottom of the grip and the base of the magazine, so it may be possible to damage the gun by pushing the mag in too far.

I'm not an expert, but I've tried it and it worked. I only tried it once though, because I didn't see the point. :)

Since KT has more experience making this design and has worked all the bugs out the hard way I thinl I'll stick with the real thing...both gun and mag.
:neener:

owned 3 kt's all were total problems. own one lcp, 1350 flawless rounds later, zero issues. copy ur ass!!!

lol, it only took me 1 kt to make me swear to stay away.

I call bs. No way you can find one, let alone fire 1350 rounds (exactly right?)

It is a copy. They suck just as bad, KT just figured everything out eventually and Ruger will have to do the same. If you ask local gun shops in Phoenix KTs biggest customer base are undercover cops. I don't think they want to carry a POS.

If you had three does that tell you something?

Plus 1 in bs category!

I own them both and they work about the same. As far as the mags go, the keltec mag fits perfectly in the ruger. What would it hurt?

if only u two knew

yup owned 3 kt's one 32 asnd two 380, now lets see, had to send them back 17 times also. have full documentation on every send back. two broken barrel lugs on the 32, one cracked grip. . Now the 380's they were jewels. two slides where the recoils springs came right out the front of the slide. One slide cracked in two places, two bad barrels. One with half the rifling gone when I got it, the other with machine chatter marks all inside of the barrel. One broken trigger, One broken trigger pivot , 3 hammer springs broke at the loop. one while sitting in my pocket, the other two at the range. numerous extractors replaced (numerous). One new frame replaced for a walking take down pin and oh yes one new grip due to cracking. Now other than that yup they are super guns. When I start to see lcp doing this, then I will apologize, call it BS if you must but I was a long time poster (over 5000) on the kt kool-aid board and the members back then read every issue of mine as they came up. yes my lcp has not given me one issue since I got it, some have, mine has been what it should be. the little kt were the only thing out there at the time I bought them. I tried as many did to love them I only know of one person who sent his in ore thani did and he is a kt moderator and he senthis kt's (including the mighty PF9) in 26 times. He also bought one of the first 250 lcp made and owns a shooting range in NY and made the statement on the kt forum that he was going to shoot it until it broke (it was his shooting range use gun also for anyone to shoot) and yup the damn thing finally broke AFTER 42,000 rounds. Now go on the kt forum and call this guy a liar and see where it gets you. glad you love ur kt's You kt fanbois just wseem so jealous that Ruger has came out with a similar gun that actually works. So far with over 52,000 rugers out there I have not read of anycracked slides or recoils prings coming out the front of the slides (which kt by the way had hundred and hundres of their guns doing that). One would hav ethought by now that after allthese years with KT being such an innovative company (which G. kellgren certainly is IMO) that thye wouyld have had the kt 380's perfect. Just go to their forums and read the issues stilltoday after over 5 years of the 380..

I read the first eght words of the above post...got paragraphs?

Gotta' wonder about a person who would stick with a product that caused so much grief.

Why not just buy a Sig .380 if you love the caliber so much?

gotta wonder to???

Humm: didn,t know the sig 380 was as small and as lite as the kt's were back then. guess I missed that one. Can u direct me to that model of sig that fits the kt 380 criteria. Sold the 32 when I bought the 380's and bought two within a week of each other. One for me and the wife. Hope that kinda directs an answer to why I originally had 3 of them. Tried very hard to get them to be good guns . They had merits of being liter than anything out there at the time and small enough to pocket carry.

Sorry u don't believe me, personally could care less to. Those that know me,know I speak the truth and the truth is the Ruger works better than the kt's ever did out of the box. Sure some issues still with the Ruger but Ruger is not running away from them either. A perfect example was the peening of the right side of the slide due to an area that shouldhave been machined out in the first place as the brass upon ejection was hitting that part of the alloy fram and causing a burr. Ruger immediately took care of this and today all lcp have this area machined out from the factory. KT to this day stillhas the peening in that area and it has been doing that since them made it and back then when one complained about it, They were just told, file it down until it stops doing it, which actually was true but IMO a piss poor answer to a defecrt in mfg..

Oh well, 3 paragraphs, normally two to many for me.

Nope, it's a copy. Almost an exact one. If you're so well experienced with both guns, that should have been painfully obvious to you.

My Keltec has been great, so have the 2 others that friends own.

Bill Ruger's done so much damage to the 2nd amendment that I won't buy any of his guns anymore. Period.

So you bought one, then another, and then another, all the while sending them back, a total of 17 times?? Sounds reasonable.

If you explained that better in your above posts, I didn't read it, try hitting return occasionally. Punctuation, capitalization, and spellcheck are your friends. Your posts are the equivalent of writing with a crayon.

kcshooter

don't read um, very simple to figure out.... I am sure ruger is very upset that you are not buying any of their guns:neener:

experience

I'm not getting into a KT vs Ruger thing....just wanted to say on my Kel Tec .380.......It was cheap and light weight. So I bought it. Before I even fired it...gave it a ramp polish and a rail polish, I do on all my autos.
Took it to the range and it performed flawlessly...shot 200 rds that first day.

Bought 6 extra mags, went back to the range shot 250 rounds using all the mags, to make sure....not a hang up the entire time. At 15 yards..there was a fist sized hole where the bad guy's nose used to be on the paper.

Now it's my 'emergency' gun while on duty.

I may have the only one that shoots true..I don't know; but I do bet my life on that little shooter!

Like I said..just my experience, no more no less!:)

Its always nice to see that the generation 1&2(P3AT) magazines will work with the generation 3(LCP).

The LCP is to Ruger as the Sigma is to S&W.
