It may well loosen after being fired some, but its biggest problem is that it is a tiny gun with very little to get a grasp on. At corneredcat.com there is a section on slide racking techniques.
Thanks. I will have a look at that. She has a Glock 19 and is able to rack the slide pretty well, like you said it is hard with so little area to grasp.
Mine was a little tight when I first got it. I honestly don't know if it got loosened up or if I just got used to it but either way the cure seems to be spending time with the pistol. Snaps caps are your friend when it comes to this pistol when you factor in the tight slide, small grip, and long trigger.
If you find that she absolutely can't rack the slide and you have to sell it, consider the sig p238, the slide is incredibly easy to rack. In fact, the first time I worked the slide on one, I though it was defective.
