Ruger LCP

Stinger,
Yes, the 9mm is more economical, but I'm willing to pay more for the .380 ammo since the gun will play such a vital role in my life. It is exactly what I want over any other smallish 9mms out there. The LCP has the features I want and for example, the LC9 has an awkward safety, mag disconnect, loaded chamber indicator..I just dont want that crap. The LCP has the simplicity of a revolver, 2 more rounds and no external safety...perfection.
I will have to check out one of these LCP's. Simplicity of a revolver I like that.

TJx...do you think your gun may have just disliked the bulk federals?

I don't think so. If it was something like Russian steel cased ammo I would agree it was the ammo.
I didn't try other brands because I didn't think it was the ammo and I wanted to cut my losses because I have to pretty much start over the proving run when I get it back.
I was very clear with the Ruger rep with what I shot and how much and there was no hesitation in setting up RMA.

Having shot the LCP, Kel-Tec P32 and the Taurus TCP, I think the TCP is the most comfortable to shoot, by far.

The Kel-Tec's are too "sharp" to shoot comfortably, but on the other hand (no pun intended), the grip would be better under wet conditions.

The LCP's to me are very snappy when compared to the TCP. I think I could do a 200 round range session with a TCP with no problem but the LCP moves in my hand enough that I think after 100 rounds I would start to get raw spots / blisters. I have to readjust my grip on occasion with the LCP.

That being said, I had decided on a TCP for my pocket gun... until my buddy had his second or third problem with his - I'm now pretty much scared off of the Taurus - which is too bad, because they are so comfortable to shoot, very accurate - for me anyway and the slide locks back on the last round.

All this being considered, I think I'll buy an LCP until I save up enough moolah for a Sig or Kahr .380 and then trade/sell the LCP.

The 9's (Kel-Tec PF-9, Ruger LC9) are JUST enough bigger that pocket carry becomes an issue, especially with summer-weight slacks.

I really like my LCP. I've had it for almost two years now and not a problem. the only things I don't like are the sights and no last round lock open.
I bought a SW Bodyguard 380 for the sights and lock open. I really liked that a little better than the LCP, but my wife fired both and took the Bodyguard.
The small size of the LCP now allows me to carry three guns on duty, Glock 22 on the gun belt, Glock 27 on the ankle, and the LCP in a pocket holster in the front left pocket. Off duty I wear my Glock 27 in appendix carry and the LCP in the left pants pocket.

Its a good choice for pocket carry. Don't buy cheap defensive ammo (for any gun).

I really like my LCP. It is my BUG. Yes, the gun is small and yoiu have to learn how shoot it. It was not as snappy as I was told.

Mine is almost always with me..fits/hides great in a jeans back pocket. Great backup to my EDC. True, it does have better fit/finish than the KelTec, and definitely more pleasant to look at. Whats to complain about in the trigger? It's an up close and personal, under $300 "get off me" weapon", not a $2,500 custom match pistol. No whining allowed, here...come on, lol. Pretty nice little pistol for the money. No problems with mine. Use quality ammo, not your budget-bulk buyer dirty, cruddy stuff and it'll run fine, and be there for you if you need it.

I rotate 3 or 4 handguns for conceal carry with the LCP as a BUG but the LCP is always with me with or without any of the others!

I have a Kel Tec P-3AT. I bought it in April but it has been in FL until last week. NIB it was a jam-a-rama. I sent it back to Kel Tec. The first time I got it back it was a joke. I could look at it and tell it wouldn't work. Kel Tec cut the shell ramp down into a tiny triangle. I sent it back again. This time when I got it back it actually worked. Kel Tec put a new barrel in it. They also replaced the trigger mechanism. The new trigger mechanism is better made. The P-3AT has actually fired 54 shots without a failure, all WWB.

People talk about handguns being ammo sensitive. I just can't buy into ammo sensitive. Ammo is not manufactured like it used to be. All ammo of a certain brand was manufactured at one of their plants. Today ammo is manufactured by the lowest bidder and subject to change at any time.

I have never shot any gun that unbearable with one brand of ammo that was flawless with another brand.
