Last time I did this, I remember having problems. Well, I detail stripped another Mini-14 lower and this time, I could NOT figure out a way to get the mag release back in. After about an hour, I made a captive pin for the spring from a nail and used a pair of needle-nosed vice-grips to hold and push the release down from the top so that the holes lined up. Had my 10-year-old daughter drive a punch through the hole, and then inserted the actual pin driving the punch out.

Seems like that was the hardest thing I'd done... UNTIL... I pushed the release too far and bent the spring! It stops on the Hammer when the whole assembly is together... didn't know that until now. So, I have to disassemble it and do the same thing again. 20 minutes later, my daughter is bragging to the whole family that she fixed my gun... and she was RIGHT.

So, does Ruger employ four-armed people or is there another way to do this?
