sorry, google just had it on the news wire as "latest" news.
The Mark IV pistol recall will cost Sturm, Ruger & Company $2.5 million, the company said last week.
CEO Chris Killoy told investors Thursday Ruger resumed production of the pistols with “enhanced parts” in late June, though second quarter sales suffered as a result, coming up $5 million short of expectations.
As soon as the recall hit the streets, gun shops were contacted to hold (and eventually return ) their inventory. The shop I work in has had all their recalled MK IVs cycled through already. Simple test is to assure the MK IV in question (new or used) has the "S" printed in the white dot in the safety. This shows it meets current specs.I would like a Mark IV but am glad I have waited. How do you tell if one in a gunstore is in need of recall or if its one that was produced after the issue was corrected?
