What can be more fun than some good old fashioned Cowboy wheelgun shooting? I sure had a good time with the Ruger New Vaquero:

Uh, what???That is an incredibly stupid idea, guy.
There is something more fun, that's adding a levergun in the same caliber to the range trip! What can be more fun than some good old fashioned Cowboy wheelgun shooting? I sure had a good time with the Ruger New Vaquero:

after all...a man with a Youtube channel and lots of guns must know.....alot?
(just kidding...some people carry only a knife or less, depending on laws where they are located, but that works for them. A single action revolver in a modern caliber is effective. As effective as a Gen4 G26? NO. I understand the limitations of the weapon, and make my choice based upon what works for me.)
Which is more wise, to use the firearm you are most intimately familiar and proficient with....or to choose a more socially acceptable platform that you are not as proficient with??? I shoot SA's all the time, almost daily and they are my primary focus and passion. I have absolutely no interest in spending as much time with combat tupperware.I do think it is highly unwise to limit yourself to a SA revolver...
And if you want to get personal, if I loaded as slowly as you do or shifted my grip between every shot, I probably wouldn't carry one either. That is an incredibly stupid idea, guy.
Sorry, my response to the guy who told us he uses a SA revolver as his concealed carry weapon was too harsh.
I do think it is highly unwise to limit yourself to a SA revolver if you are using it as your concealed EDC weapon.
But, to each his own. As always, YMMV.
I'm not talking about them, I'm talking about YOU. Sorry but when you refer to someone's choice as "incredibly stupid", you will get called on it. What IS "incredibly stupid" is to unnecessarily limit yourself to what internet experts regard as acceptable. What IS "incredibly stupid" is to use a firearm that you are less than familiar with because 'some' think it's a more appropriate tool.Heck, in our society there are a lot of people who regard any gun ownership to be unacceptable, period.
Then YOU should carry them. What's best for you may not necessarily be best for all. Like I said, if I was as inept with a single action as you are, I wouldn't carry one either. But I shoot them almost daily, reload with haste and work on building skill almost constantly. Proficiency trumps platform and I'll choose a platform I'm the most intimately familiar and proficient with over anything less every time.I feel there are much more effective self-defense firearms.
