Just wanted to add some praise for this wonderful gun.. It is my second single action (other is ruger single 10) and I love it.

Its .357, stainless.

Just ordered wolff springs and altamont black pearl grips for it... hoping to love it even more.

Add photos of your rugers SA's!

Ruger new Vaquero Birdshead in 45ACP
(sold it.....trying to sell my Sig P220 Compact in order to buy another one...:banghead:)

This will be my next gun purchase, in .45. I just need to decide on what barrel length to get. I've noticed that the fit and finish is getting better on these, it bugs me when the trigger guard isn't flush to both sides of the frame.

I had one in 45...traded it off to my brother for a Stonebrigde Guitar...I definately got the better end of the deal but I sure miss that gun...which is why I'm buying a new one next week!

wheelyfun66, I saw one of those birds head NV .45acp's at a gun show last weekend, it was more money than I had with me, but dang I wanted it!

Yeah.....I know how it is!!
Trying to sell off my Sig P220 Compact right now...to fund another Birdshead!

Guys,
Never been a Ruger guy or SA either but I have changed on the first count (Mk I, P89, and Redhawk on layaway!) So there are Ruger's in the safe (not to mention 10/22) and the SA's are catching my eye!
Really like the small 4'' er's like the BirdsHead so I may be shopping soon after picking up the Redhawk.
Alive - your new Vaquero is sweet, good luck with it.
Ciao

Probably the most accurate of all my single action revolvers, this is an old model Vaquero in .45LC. The grips are Tru Ivory from Bar S Grips.
