I found a brand new old style Ruger Vaquero blued with 5 1/2 barrel today that wants to come home really bad...The only thing holding me back is that its chambered for .44 mag. I like the old style Vaquero because it has that old look and feel to it. I dont want stainless because of the "old look" factor. So for the same reason I would prefer one chambered in .45 colt. On the other hand these are getting much harder to find and jumping on it seems to be the thing to do. What do you all think, should I adopt the little guy or what???

Well you know how strong the OMV is. It is the gun you want if you need to put some really hot loads through it from time to time. There's not a thing wrong with a .44 mag. I have a couple of them in .45 and if you were in my neck of the woods, I would let you have one of them at a good price. But I don't want to fool with the hassle of mailing one. Go for the .44. You'll like it.

What? It isn't already making itself comfortable in your home?

If so needed/desired, you can run some absolutely thermo-nuclear level loads through it. (As in needing to ventilate some big hairy scary long-toothed critters desiring to have you for lunch)!
