OK I have polished everything I think I should but I still feel the trigger "catch" about 1/3 into the pull.

I have removed the pawl and the transfer bar and still feel it so I know they aren't dragging on anything.

What am I missing?? looked & looked & looked and I just don't see it!

Thanks in advance

Worn hammer dog. Do a search on the Ruger forum. My wife's GP had this problem. You can stretch/peen it a little bit or just replace it. Fairly common of Ruger DAs. especially if some one has "worked" on them.

Longer lengthwise, where it interfaces with the upper horizonal trigger surface. Careful. I tried that with my hammer dog and it broke. Yes, it was on a flat surface. I think those were cast parts. But it does have a big effect on this character of the Ruger DA trigger. A guy on Gunbroker was selling some of those. Ruger won't sell them anymore, I believe.

Years back I shortened the one in my GP100 too much. I made one out of a hard stamped steel washer. I shaped it, smoothed it, surface hardened it with bone meal in the oven. Worked nice. Got a new one anyway and fitted it.

Another place to look is where the detent and trigger interface with the cylinder bolt (catch in Ruger terms). The detent can create a small divot in the catch surface it pushes against. Either or both may be rough. Same with the hammer/catch interfaces.
