This is purely second hand info, but i heard that first year production (150's) guns tend to really spin up and back upon firing and the change was made to alleviate the problem.
I havent shot mine yet,as i got it used a while back and took it straight to a shop for refinishing where it still is.Backlogged i guess?

Hi Tropical Z I noticed that you said you are having you Security Six refinished are you having it reblued or a different finish put on it ??Im a little curious because my sixes blueing is a little worn looking and I am looking at different refinishing options.:)

Hi! I've got a stainless Security Six 4" series 151XXX, and the first thing that I did was to change the darn grips. It was a bear to shoot with those small wood factory grips. I found a pair of grips on EBAY for $ 4.00 that are really handfilling, and make shooting this gun a pleasure. It's my most accurate 357 magnum.

Yup Frankie357 I know the feeling those stock Ruger grips are pretty darn small ,I in the process of trying to find bigger grips but I have the 150 six and those are hard to find grips for.

Theres a trade school near me that will hot dip blue a gun for $61.00
Thats what i decided to do,as the finish on mine was only about 50%,while the gun is great mechanically.

Tropical Z has it right. The lack of a pronounced recoil shoulder in the frame allowed the gun to rotate up in the hand and slow follow up shots.
