I recently bought a new Ruger SP101 357 mag
This is really hard to explain and I can't get my camera to focus well enough for it to be visible. There appears to be like a small cut underneath one part of the rifling, but its only on the 8 o'clock position of the crown, almost as if it was being crowned on a lathe, and it went too deep in that spot. The crown is intact and undamaged, but where the one line of rifling meets the crown, theres a small cut/gap under that one, just about deep enough to catch your fingernail.
I shot the revolver and didn't notice any major problems. Wasn't particularly accurate but I think that has more to do with me than the gun.
I'm not sure if this is worth a call/trip to Ruger about.
