Thanks and for the responses so far.My biggest concern was if it could handle .357 ammo on a constant basis and it sounds like it can.For whatever reason where i live 38sp ammo cost as mush as 357 ammo...go figure.
The SP101 was actually designed to be a 357. Not a 38spl that can shoot a few 357's here and there (i.e. some s&w's). Your hand and wallet will give up long before the gun does.

I have both of them. Have had the GP almost 25 years. The 1st one was stolen, I replaced it w/ the same thing.

If I had to go to 1 pistol/revolver - that would be the one. It can be used for practically anything in the L48. Extremely durable. If you run it dry? You can use the GP as a blunt trauma device. You need something to pound in tent stakes? Grab the GP! The emergency brake not working very well on your truck, while at the boat ramp? Grab the GP and use it as a wheel chock! etc etc :D

The SP - great weapon also. I love it too. It's nothing more than the little brother to the GP. (smaller blunt trauma device, smaller hammer, smaller wheel chock!) ;)

Get yourself a reloader and get to it. Not "quite" as crisp as a S&W, but it'll smooth out.

Enjoy.

Ive got the 2.25 inch DAO also, and ive put thousands of rounds through it. Everything from light target wadcutters to some REALLY heavy reloads with 180 grain slugs. I put a houge monogrip on it and other than a bit of muzzle flip i hardly notice recoil. I dont think you can wear one out.
