this gun will be a range gun only and will be shot with 10% .357 for fun, and 90% with 38spl. shooting for accuracy, shooting factory and reloads that i can tweak as much as possible, to squezze the most accuracy out of it as possible.
For this kind of use, a four- or six-inch, adjustable-sighted GP will be far more pleasant to shoot than the little SP. The longer sight radius and better sight picture afforded by the adjustable sights (which you can also set up for different points of impact with different loads) will help you get more accuracy out of it.

For a range sixgun, and for accuracy with varying loads, the only answer is the GP100. The SP101 is a truly excellent weapon, but in .38/.357 the sights are fixed, meaning the sights cannot be dialed-in for varying loads. The GP100 is available with either fixed or adjustable sights.

Got to agree with the group here. I have the 6" GP and the 2 1/4" SP. For range fun only, hard to beat the 6" gp with adjustable sights. Handles even the hotest 357 with little trouble. A real pleasure to shoot. For CC the sp101 rocks. Both will last longer than you will. Often used ones can be found at reasonable bargins
