Rules of Gunfighting

I thought the rules were the same as for a successful dogfight:

- Be unpredictable!
- Use as many dirty tricks as possible!
- Use your common sense!
- WIN!

All those rules have been around a long time now, they just get redone a bit now and then, added to, deleted from and so on. I have taught most of them them in training classes and posted most of them them on the net myself in the past, they are fun to teach. Yet, there is a more important rule than all of those combined.

The most important rule I ever heard and, it includes gunfights, is that you go home that night to kiss your kids (or loved one) goodnight. If you made it that far, well I guess you were the winner.

Be careful out there.

All the best,
Glenn B

The real 1st rule of a gunfight.

Rule #1-Shoot first, Shoot to kill in the least no. of shots!
Why? A wounded bad guy can sue you to death, or at least to bad health. A bad guy deserves no mercy. They will try it again. A funeral costs the state (taxpayers) less than a prison stay.
Rule #2-Use hollowpoints of sufficient caliber and number.

I will have a Yueghling Laguer
Not only was it misspelled, up way way (their brewery is only about a 1 1/2 drive from where I live), we call it "Pottsville Pi**water"! :D :neener:

And to add another one to the list of rules (hereby quoting the sig line of another THR member):

"If you shoot them in the freaking head they'll stop!" :D :neener:

Glenn Bartley,

Even though I don't have kids or a family (except for my beloved Yorkies!) that was some sage advice! Nice addition to the rules.
