A link to the ad would have been nice.

I think it has to be by a combination of volume, loss leaders, and taking advantage of special sales like the Shot Show deals offered by manufacturers.

When Rural King has a "Sale" going, the firearms are normally priced at below my current dealer cost!

This probably will make you punche in your zip code but this is the ad

Personally I like the recliners better, life is too short to have ugly firearms no matter how good the price.

When you have a link to actual item in question pm a Mod, other than me as I will be at work tonight, and they will be happy to reopen this. I tried the link posted by OW but even with my old Houston zip code it did not find anything...

OW's link works for me. Those are good prices if you want one of those models.

6 page ad for my area. Rock Island Armory 1911 .45 ACP fr $352. Not bad.

The ad is for the store where Dad shops in Lake Wales Florida. I got a nice Chiappa .22 / .22magnum revolver there for $149

The way things are going lately WM should use their business plan. Good inexpensive firearms would be available almost everywhere in the USA if they did.;) And lots of people would possibly still have their jobs.......

Closest one in KY is 60 miles away in Shelbyville KY

Closest one in Ohio is 30 miles away in Hamilton OH.

Hamilton is closer, but I can't buy handguns in Ohio. Shelbyville KY at 60 miles, I could just drive 75 miles to Bud's in Lexington and probably get a better deal.

They need more stores around here.
.

I doubt you can find a Charger for $193 at Bud's.

My sis goes there to get stuff for her dog and cats.

I'll have to see the gun prices they have. I love going into farm stores. I always seem to walk out with a bunch of tools/clothes/guns/ammo etc. etc.

Their prices on auto batteries and oil and stuff are good too.

I guess they sell a lot of guns at cost, to get people in the store to buy other things. Loss leader. But from the one that's just up the road from me- I know a couple counter guys- they sell A LOT of guns.

We have on locally that just started selling firearms a little more than a year ago. In answer to the OPs question, they don't likely make any money on guns that are "on sale". The idea is to get you in the door and looking around at everything else they have to offer including accessories and ammo for your new gun.

I love rural king... I have bought several bigger items there and a gun or two... Picture a Larger Tractor Supply with more clothes-food- household-furniture-hardware and a gun section... and a large garden section in season.

I am a 1/2 hour or so and usually stop when in the area if not for a special trip if I see something I need in an ad or email.

We have them here. Gun prices are good. They will fight you to the death (almost) before they will take off the trigger lock. So you will be buying a gun without even touching the trigger in my experience. Very rude people. They are the "oh dear, you don't want to see a gun do you?" types. YMMV. Not knowledgeable or helpful people one little bit.

They can have very good prices.
