I bought a Russian Capture Mauser as a Christmas presant for my son. I don't know much about Mausers and never heard of RC before I bought it, but was impressed with its excellent condition. It's a Waffen Werke Brünn made in 43.
The NRA Mauser publicacation is not very helpful for identification purposes, so I decided to ask the people who know firearms here at THR. Your help is appreciated.
This rifle has a 4 digit serial number. Is this possible?
Below the serial number is stamped ii. What does this mean?
The top of the barrel is stamped CE.
What is the purpose of the hole in the stock just below the sling attachment?
The reciever is stamped Mod. 98. How is this different from the designation K98?
Did I get taken for paying $190? confused:
Where is a good place to buy a cleaning rod and sling?
thanks in advance
