S&w 5906 square trigger guard serial numbers

I been googling the last hour or so. But does anybody have a chart of when the 5906's switch to the round trigger guard? The gun in question is a tyy44XX. Hoping is had a square trigger. Picking it up from a friend and was browsing holsters. And i wanted to look up which style it has. I cant get pics of the gun and he couldnt explain what i was talking about over the phone

I am pretty sure that will be a round guard, but I cannot be sure. TYY should be around 1992, and the switch was happening in 1991 and 1992. I know TCTxxxx and TFB03xx have square guards. TYY38xx has a round guard. The issue is that S&W did not always ship guns in serial number order, and older serial numbers can have newer features.

Farscott is correct. Smith tended to use parts on hand and the feature to serial number relation isn't necessarily sequential. It also made for some unusual transition guns.

I was issued a brand new 5906 in 1992 as a duty weapon. It had a square trigger guard. I would guess my employer had purchased it no more than 6 months before. It was a good gun. I carried it 7 years. I bought it when we switched guns. I paid $180 for it with 3 mags, plus I has kept the box and paperwork.
