I want to replace the black serrated ramp sight on my 625 Mountain Gun with something a little more visible -- a gold/brass dot, a fiber optic, or maybe even just a low tech red ramp.

Anyone have any recommendations? I will replace the rear sight if necessary, but would prefer to keep it, or maybe just change out the blade.

Brownells has a Hi-Viz S&W fiber optic replacment sight -- but it scares me a little. They offer only one size and say it fits all frames. Can that be possible?

I would love to hear what others have done with the sights on their N-frames.

I started with a 4" short-underlug 625-4, milled off the fixed front sight and put the "modern" removable blade base on it. Threw one of the fiber front sight inserts in the new base and use it for both IPSC and IDPA.

Fast and easy to see.

Mongo like pretty red fiber...

Can't really tell from the picture, but I had my 'smith replace the original plain Partridge blade with one with a brass bead and the rears with Millet white-outline targets. This is primarily my bullseye shooter and with a Davis action job it's amazing how well it shoots.

I put a Hi-Viz on my 629 MG and think it is the best thing since sliced bread.
