I currently have 4 of the S&W 629's in the 3 inch configuration. What I am having a hard time finding is holsters?I can only seem to find holsters for 4 inch models..Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ...

Also have a S&W 4 inch compensated .500 that I am looking for a holster for as well.I ordered a Ross leather back model and its not what I wanted..

Also in advance I am looking for leather holsters only..

Thanks..

Well I found one, the folks at S&W were good enough to give me a list..So both my .500 and my .44's have new skin on the way..

I would have suggested that you contact Ray at Lobogunleather, he has an enhanced pancake I am ordering for my .44 mag snubby.

I'm doing the same search (3" 629). Care to share the list you got from S&W? Thanks!

I just got a belt SLIDE holster from El Paso Leather that I really like, for my 327 2" 8-shot snubbie (which is identical in size to your 629 except for 2" versus your 3" barrel.

I got this particular holster because:

1. I wanted to see if ONE holster could handle either the 2" snubbie or the comped 627 5" as well

2. The El Paso slide holster is VERY well supported (much more so than say the Hume JIT), AND holds the revolver very HIGH and tight to the body.

I am pleased because both objectives were met. The 5" revolver simply is a bit less tolerant of shorter shirttails than is the 2" snubbie, and either revolver draws very FAST from the holster.

The speedloader case turns out to be the issue though. It actually prints before the revolver does, and with the revolver on one side and the speedloader case on the other, you don't have a back pocket (or front pocket for that matter) that you can keep a wallet in, as reaching for that wallet risks flashing either the revolver or the speedloader case.

By the way, the speedloader case works GREAT with full moon clips. For a fast reload, just insert your finger into the "hole" in the center of the moon clip, pull it out and over the revolver chamber, and drop it in. Slick.

By the way, if you want a holster that almost no one who is not a shooter will recognize as being a holster when the gun is not in it, the Don Hume JIT comes very close to meeting that objective. It's so darn minimalist that without the gun in it, many people would have no clue what it is.
