S&W 629 Classic Champion German Proofs

interesting gun a friend of mine procured. 629. 6 1/2" full underlug barrel. Unfluted cylinder Pinned Patridge front sight all black. Looked like black Hogue wood finger groove grips. Classic Champion laser etched on the side. Bead blasted matte finish. German proof marks.

Did some research and what little I found was these were imported from Germany from some distributor over there. They came in 629-4 and 629-5 variants. Anyone have any clue on rarity or any other insights into these revolvers?

Here is a pic pulled from the web. This has different barrel lengthand I guess they did come in different lengths. The one I saw had a 6 1/2” barrel. And the one I saw had a round butt with black wood finger groove grip.

That's a nice looking gun.
