S&W 63 22lr vs.................

If I'm going to have a slamfest anyway, my Taurus Model 94 had an absolutely horrid trigger.

Yep. Mine too. They stopped making them and good riddance.

The new 942s are a different breed. I have the stainless snub and it is great. Some light strikes on occasion, but never when using CCI.

After the insanity ends I am thinking about getting a 3" 22 Magnum and/or the ultralight snub.

Does anyone have a S&W 317 and, if so, how well do they hold up? Being mostly alloy and being very expensive, is it a decent bugout bag addition? It's a beautiful gun and its one I didn't like at first. Now, like fungus, it's grown on me.

What are the pros and cons (besides being a small rimfire)?

I’ve been happy with my Model 317. The V notch rear sight takes a bit of using to get used to.

Mine has not locked up from heat but I may not have ever shot lots of ammunition in a short period of time with it.

It is light weight. It is a pleasure to carry for critter duty around our hobby horse farm.

I dispatched a ground hog with the M317 last fall. The M317 did it’s job although the 22RF was a bit light for the task and it took several shots to put the ground hog down.

I have a Model 34 and a Model 63 that are fun to shoot at the range but the Model 317 is a keeper as a critter gun around the farm.
