S&W 638 question (barrel length)

I know I will get superior bullet performance, accuracy, and possibly less eye and ear punishment from the model with the 3" barrel, but will that undercut concealment much? I'd love input from some of you snubby carriers. This will be the gun I take running with me, and any time when maximum concealment is a must and I can't bring the P7.

For me a J frame is a pocket gun. A 3" is just to long for my pockets. If it is to be belt carried, there really isn't much difference. But for me, if carried on a belt, I would rather move up to a K frame sized gun. YMMV

I agree, a 3" barrel is just a little long for pocket carry but if you don't mind IWB carry a 3" J frame is a really nice revolver.
