I've never seen this configuration before, but there was one at my gun shop today. It was a little dirty, but in otherwise like new condition. I love the feel of the gun, but does anyone have any info on it? How many made, how long, what year??? It had an orange Hi-Viz and Hogue Bantams, but I didn't notice if the grips had the Hogue or S&W logo. Thanks in advance!

It was a limited production item in 2004. They were meant as way of introducing the public to the new L-Frame 619 and 620 revolvers that were introduced this year to replace ALL of the K-frame .357s.

I've used 686-Plus revolvers for year and tested samples of all three of the above. I liked 'em.

Seven shooters rule! :D

Krag, I don't know how a 2004 production date would be possible for a -5. The current dash is -6, maybe even -7, and the one I looked at didn't have a lock. I think the one you're referring to is the partial underlug that came with the Ahrends grips and did have a lock.
