I sent in my 342PD and 60-3 for trigger enhancements about 5 1/2 weeks ago and they returned yesterday. When I dry fired them I could tell right away that they were improved, the 60 was almost as smooth as my K-frame. The 342 was still on the heavy side, but very smooth and consistent. It was much easier shooting with the trigger work done.

Now heres the negative: They gouged up my 342 on the underside between the trigger guard and crane area, and also on the bottom of the barrel. I use the word "gouge" because it looks like someone grabbed it with pliers, as the marks were like it was punctured rather than scratched/rubbed up against something. And I'm sure I didn't do it, I take very good care of all my guns and the only marks I had were some slight wear marks in the normal areas (holstering, cylinder ring, etc). Matter of fact I was just commenting before I shipped it out about how well the finish was holding up because I've read a lot of times about how people have had problems with the finish on thier Airlites.

I called S&W right away and explained on the phone to the guy, and he said he was sending me a shipping label. He said to include a note explaining what happened, and I've done that along with take photos. He told me about how I wouldn't believe some of the stories people came up with complaining about how S&W ruined their guns. I assured him it wasn't the case with me, I mean I haven't had my gun for almost 6 weeks, and it arrives and now I wanna send it back in? I don't think so! :fire:

I just hope its re-finished in a timely manner, w/o them giving me a hassle about it. Just wanted to vent, and pass on the experience. Thanks.
