S&W Cylinders and Barrels?

Is it possible to purchase carbon steel cylinders and barrels for S&W revolvers?

I'm wondering if a .45 Colt cylinder and barrel could be purchased and fitted to an N frame giving you the option of going back to the original configuration.

Not an easy conversion, lots of fitting to be done.

It is possible. Gun Parts Corp. occasionally has .45 Colt barrels and cylinders in stock - check their parts availability for the S&W Model 25.

You could also talk to Hamilton Bowen, Clark Custom Guns, and other "top-of-the-range" gunsmiths to see what they have lying around as parts. Clark is authorized by S&W to do barrel changes, too, so you might get lucky.
