S&W Experts - date my Model 17-4 please

Smith-o-philes, I've got a new to me Smith & Wesson model 17-4. I'd like to know when it was made.

It's a 17-4 with serial number markings as follows 99K25**

I understand S&W stopped pinning barrels on their revolvers in 1982. I was told by the seller that the barrel was indeed pinned, but the barrel is not visibly pinned to the frame.

What's the dealio??

Makes a good case for CAREFULLY scrutinizing the pictures when buying guns over the internet. It's a very nice gun, in fine shape and I'm not sorry I bought it. But as we know the pinned barrel is a sought after feature and enhances a guns value....my bid amount was in part influenced by this feature



But I bought it to shoot, not to sell.....Live and learn I guess
