S&W: Internal vs. Shrouded Hammer

What about the grip?

I've handled both types of guns, but never shot either one. What about the grip? The humpback guardian is quite a bit different than other shapes. Does the shroud ever cut the web between your thumb and finger?

On the other hand, most grips don't look like the really fit a centennial. Does any one have a set of high horned grips on theirs? Is it worth hunting up a pair?

I guess the real solution is not to choose, just buy one of each!

Only if you try holding the gun upside down. :D

That's an excellent solution, vmr357.
Buy both of them, and then when you decide which one is the better gun to keep, you shouldn't have any problems finding someone to take the centennial off your hands.

You showin off again? :) I'm old school, and I just think a wheelgun without a hammer showing is wierd. It's like cutting the body off of a pick up truck. I carry all 15oz. of my 85 Ultra-Lite 2" snubby in a pocket holster everyday.

It doesn't print, or snag, and the pocket holster keeps it from being contaminated by the lint in my belly button!!! :D

Yes, and yes, but the improvement is somewhat subtle. You're not going to put them on, pick up the gun and say "wow, if I only knew this back when..." Also note that unless you choke up on the grip of the Centennial-type revolver, they don't prove anything at all, since the "high horn" part will be above your grip.
