Just posting a request for turnaround times people have experienced recently in factory lettering their Smith's. I have a request in since April 26 (check cashed May 1) for a 1925 Military and Police .38.

What is your recent experience?

P.S. I am aware that 'ol Roy is busier than a 1 armed paper-hanger.

Ah, there's the rub.

Gonna be awhile. 4 month vacations for a man of his "experience", while well deserved don't bode well IMHO. My best wishes go to a true icon.

Howdy

Where did you hear that Roy is on vacation until October?

He has been answering questions on the S&W Collector's Association pages right up to yesterday. I expect he will answer some more today. Generally speaking, when Roy is going to be away for a while he posts a head's up at the SWCA pages. I have not seen such a head's up recently. I'm sure he will be in Kansas City for the SWCA annual meeting from June 19-23, so he will not be working on any letters during that time.

Last time I got a letter I think it took about six weeks. This of course varies with how much Roy has on his plate.

From 5/1/13 (date the check cleared my account), we are at 7 weeks today.

I wonder if a phone call (after the 23rd) would result in a current status check and an ETA?
