Rockingham & Hamlet were two of the Cable systems I designed back in the mid to late 1960s. Also Dunn & Irwin and the Mount Airy/Pilot Mountain area as well as Greensboro and a few other NC cities.

Nah. The first ARPA contracts were in 1969 IIRC. My work in that area was slightly later in yet another of my many careers. True Internet was about twenty years later but I remember giving a talk at a Government Information Management Association (I think that was what it was called) conference about this new idea called Internet and passing out a list of known sites on the Net. It was two pages printed on two sides long. That was in the mid 1980s IIRC.
