I just got the S&W M&P 9mm Compact and wanted to do a quick function test before sending it out to Dan Burwell to improve the wretched Massachusetts trigger. Why a really bad trigger is "safe" eludes me, but I digress.
I put about 125 - 150 rounds through it. Mostly FMJ S&B ammo with some UMC mixed in--No malfunctions of any kind. My only prep was to lube it appropriately and to switch the magazine release for left hand usage.
Aside from the bad trigger, I really like the ergonomics of this pistol. I brought my Sig 239 9mm to keep it company. To my surprise I found myself liking the handling of S&W better than the Sig (which is 4 ozs heavier and with less magazine capacity).
Hopefully, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
