I was the proud owner of a 1970s vintage S&W Model 37. This is the lightweight Chiefs Special. I bought it when the local police department got rid of their revolvers for semi autos. Recently, it developed a crack in the frame where the barrel screws in. The crack started at the front and ran towards the cylinder. I sent the revolver to Smith and Wesson. Two days later, they called and confirmed that there was a crack. They then told me that they would be sending me a brand new Model 637 to replace the 37. I received the 637 one week later. I have not incurred any expense in this. They picked up the UPS charged both ways. I am very happy with their customer service! I will buy their products again!
