It's as light as a much smaller (read: more painful to shoot) pistol, but with a big enough grip that force is distributed widely, and recoil is quite manageable, "pleasant" even. The only real downside is you'll burn through ammunition a third faster (I'm not kidding) with the eight chambers. Oh, and people will ask if you're shooting a semi-auto...

I've been really happy with mine. It happens to fit my hand real well, which is good since the finger grooves would bug me otherwise. I've probably got around 2-300 rounds through it, everything from light .38 to 180gr magnum. I particularly like shooting Hornady 140gr FTX ammo meant for lever actions, since the pointed bullet tips make for fast/easy moonclip reloads that'll make bottom-feeders blush. It's a lot more fun to shoot SA, since the oversized, knurled hammer is really easy to get a hold of.

The sights are awesome, the wide blade notch in the rear and the gold dot up front acquire really quick for me. It helps the gun shoots right at POA out of the box for me. For <50yd stuff, I think the ability to easily add optics up top is unnecessary if you have good eyes.

The paint/coating/surface black has held up well enough, granted I don't carry it anywhere outside it's hard case. There is minimal line on the cylinder, though.

If you opt to get one, I would suggest buying some extra moonclips through Dillon (I think). They were a lot cheaper, 20$ for ten clips, I believe. I would suggest the TRR8 over the R8 since the rails are all removeable, you will probably find like me that you never use them, and don't need their extra weight to balance the gun (they are solid steel).

I bought mine as a light weight trail gun (expensive, but not so pretty I'm scared for it) that packs the power AND capacity to deal with all reasonable wildlife/bad guy situations I could be involved in, but isn't a G20. I bet it would make one hell of a hog(s) gun. It's also a gem at the range with the fancy trigger and it's 5" barrel, which I feel is a good compromise of the merits of the venerable 4" and 6" barrels (I just realized that sounds a bit obvious...). The modern styling can even be turned tacticool for the zombie folks with ease by adding the rails. The only thing this gun can't do is conceal easily.

Hope that helps,
TCB
