Will a speed loader for a Smith Chief work for an Iver Johnson break top in .38 S&W?

Looking at the two cartridges, the rims appeared to be very close in diameter. So I tried the .38 S&W cartridges in a H&K loader meant for a K frame .38Spl. and they locked in perfectly. Being shorter, a little stubby looking, but it worked.

Don’t know if the J frame cylinder spacing would work for the IJ though.

Anyone know, or have all that’s necessary to find out?

Thanks

I don't have any 38S&W handy. A 38 special speedloader lines up in a S&W top break.

Don't have an Iver Johnson anymore.
