I enjoy shooting my Shield, but am not fond of the shorter magazine. I think I need another, longer mag or two.

Where is a good place to get the Shield mags?

Anyone here have any that they want to sell?

Interesting base plates.

Does it add another round or just a place for the pinky to rest?

The NDZ aluminum baseplate is just for the pinky but is shorter than the plastic pinky extensions offered by other manufactures. For me it is just the right amount for all four fingers to grip the gun.

I did not like the longer mag. That last round was hard to get in there and a full magazine tended to bounce when inserting instead of seating properly. I understand that most carry with the 7 round in and have the 8 round as a back up, but I could not trust it to seat properly in an emergency. So if I carry the 8 round there is more chance of printing so you might as well just get the M&P9C.

Thinking back, I may be mistaken about Botach. I know they had Glock mags for that price, but probably not S&W. Sorry for the error.

You might want to try the classified section of the S&W forum too. I was able to buy 3 like new lightly used mags for $60 shipped, and I then was able to trade a couple of those regular mags with someone who had extended mags they wanted to trade.

I must say, I do rather carry the standard mags with the Pearce grip extension when I'm iwb carrying though. I carry the extended mag as my back-up in a kydex holster (there's a guy that'll make 2 kydex mag holsters for $20 shipped)...
