Anybody have one of these jewels? I won one Sunday at a PPC match. It's not really something I'd buy, but I can't knock a free gun. I can't pick it up until next week so tell me all about um. How much do they cost, how do they shoot, etc.

No personal experience, but I've heard pretty good things about the new ones. Apparently, they are now one of the better-selling S&Ws. Seems that S&W got the bugs worked out of them.

Around $300 - $350 most places, I think.

The early sigmas were mostly POS. SW must have worked out the kinks because I'm only reading good things about the latest models. If you don't want it post for sale NIB. If you use it the value will plummet because they're inexpensive to start with.

Ktulu:

Absolutely one of the best pistols I have ever owned. Well, as long as I don't try to use those stupid 10 round magazines that came with it. Mine's a jam-a-matic with the 10 rounders.

HOWEVER, with the factory 15 rounders I have, it is MAHVELOUS!! Utterly reliable, accurate, the easiest pistol to breakdown there is. It is my travel gun (love having 16 rounds at hand), carried in a Milt Sparks Versa-Max II hoslter.

Give it half a chance, and you'll love it.

I would have to agree with the above posts. I've had several and currently have the 40. They are nice guns that shoot very well. Some people will say the trigger is awful, but it is not bad when you get use to it. Somewhat like the double action pull of a revolver.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to try and make a deal at the gun store when I pick it up. Instead of taking this pistol, I might bite at a fair amount off a .357 revo or maybe one of those 1911 Sc's. I don't know if they’ll do something like that or not. If not, I'll just keep it.

Greeting's All-

Ktulu, don't expect much of a deal from a dealer when trying to swap
your S&W Sigma. It would be a lot better to try to sell it to an individual
at a slightly higher profit, then purchase the firearm you are seeking.

Best Wishes,

I picked up the Sigma yesterday. Ala Dan was right not much of a deal so I just took the gun. I like the thing. Trigger is heavy and crappy, but I like the feel of it in my hand. I just might keep it.

BTW: It is such a Glock copy it's not even funny and here I thought Taurus was the copy gun company.
