Thanks in advance fellas. Anybody know for sure whether a 180 grain "silhouette" mould made by Saeco will feed properly through a lever action rifle?

:)

Mine does, yours may not. This process is a bit like kissing frogs, you may have to "kiss" several before you find the "prince". Not all boolits are compatible with all rifles since no two chambers are exactly alike.

I shoot 180/185 grain .357 Magnum bullets through my Marlin rifles all the time. You just have to watch the Over All Length of the loaded round, which means you may have to ignore the crimping groove and crimp where you need to. Contrary to internet "wisdom", I've seen no degradation of accuracy by doing so. Hodgdon's Lil'Gun powder will give you about 100 fps more velocity than either Win. 296/H-110 will, and accuracy is as good, or better. I get 1,710 fps avg. using Lil'Gun and 180 gr. RNFP-GC bullets from my Marlin.

Hope this helps.

Fred
