A friend of mine purchased a Safety Harbor 50 BMG upper that fits to an AR-15lower.

I'm just curious if anyone has one and what their opinions are of the Upper?
Anyone have a bad experience or have a negative review of their product?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Come on over to the 50 forum on ar15.com, plenty of talk on uppers of all kinds.

The safety harbor is a good upper, just tell your buddy to check with them to see if it has had the upgrade for the firing pin. All but one manufacturer had issues with the firing pins having a block to keep them from firing before being all the way into battery. This did lead to a few bad issues with the uppers, injuries to the shooters... As far as I know this problem has been taken care of unless buyers didn't hear about it.

What I can say is if its a short barrel like an 18", put a red dot on it and blast away at ranges up to 600 yards or so. Plus being light weight makes it easy to shoot it offhand and that's where the red dot helps out.

Just stay away from crappy foreign ammo, the worst being Dominican Republic "yellow tip" as its the worst stuff out there. When in doubt just ask and you'll get an answer about it.
