Saiga 5.45/AK74 questions

I'm looking at an AK74-style rifle and have been considering a Saiga 5.45. Does anyone know:
1. What the OD of the barrel is (K-Var FSB/gas block combo?)
2: Where I can find a top cover with the AKS-74U-style rear sight?

I never measured mine, but I know it is the same diameter as the a AK 74...it is a popular mod to use the 74 FSB, which just slips right on.

The AKS-74U top cover won't work as the rear sight block is completely different (shorter, and with the hinge where the cover is attached). Why do you want those rear sights? They aren't very good...

The ones wnycollector posted a link to would be a LOT better, though they're nothing like the -74U arrangement, either.
