Greetings all. :) I have been pondering on buying myself a 5.45x39 inexpensive, fairly reliable AK-type rifle. The problem I seem to encounter is the lack of availability and reliability on some of these by what I have read and heard. I have also been looking into the 5.45x39 Saiga, but what gets to me on this rifle is the lack of hi-cap mags :banghead:. Could any one of you fine folks lead me to find out how/where to acquire any hi-cap mags, if any exist at all, for the Saiga 5.45x39 rifle? All/any help is much appreciated. :)

There is no such critter as a "hi-cap mag".

It's a legal fiction created by the antigun movement. When you use it, they get a warm fuzzy feeling, as you continue their propaganda campaign for them.

You'll be able to choose from more than 20,000,000 magazines that will fit your Saiga, but only after you restore it toward Mr. Kalashnikov's original design.

Instead of "high-cap" socialist language, we prefer "Standard" capacity.;)

Language defines ( frames) minds and arguments. I agree that a 922r compliant Saiga w/ a bullet ramp will be your best bet for reliability.

If that is too much effort, then a Lancaster build, or a Saga "legion" from Arsenal is another standard capacity option w/o any work, just more money.;)

(I don't trust Commercial mags vs. Military mags in regards to reliability and durability)

I have read at least one review of the saiga 5.45 where the owner was able to run regular ak74 mags with no modification to the rifle at all. reliably.
