I'm about to pull the trigger on a Krebs aperture sight for my 7.62 Saiga, but I'm not sure if I need the 800m or the 1000m model. Oh, and I've tried searching, but no cigar.

On a mostly related note, would anyone like to suggest an AK aperture sight that is thought to be better (in whatever way) than the Krebs?

Thanks!

If its 7.62x39, the farthest your going to get is about 300, after that, that round has the ballistics of a led balloon. If its x51, id still only go with 800, but i dont think your going to get that far with a saiga, but i may be wrong...

I cant wait for those AK tech sights. I have a feeling they are going to sell like hot cakes too.

As squirrel sniper points out, you don't need either. You won't be able to consistantly hit targets beyond 300m, regardless of which model aperture sight you buy.

Right. I figured as much. However, I would like to know which one fits my Saiga, i.e. which one the Russians put on the real AK-103.

Don't worry. I harbor no delusions about actually hitting anything at 800 yards with my Saiga! :D
