Saiga + sling = ?

I'm doing the Appleseed shoot this weekend. Living in a smaller town, I can't seem to find a 'GI' style sling anywhere. None of the gun stores have them, or any sporting goods shops.

Problem is, the Saiga swivel has a screw through it. I can't use one of those clip style swivels like you find for hunting rifles, since the screw gets in the way.

Is there some other 'plan B' sling I could use? Maybe fabricating one?

any piece of flat strap and a couple friction buckles, thats all the regular military ones are is 1 1/4" blk nylon or cotton flat strap with a fricton buckle at each emd outa have everything at the neighborhood Wally world in the sewing section

Any plain old sling will work, so long as its the right width to fit the Saiga loops. You don't need the quick detacheable swivels, as the Saiga already has the loops on it.

you would be better off to make your own sling swivel ,, i moved mine on the side of the stock .

take out the original crap sling swivel and get some uncle mikes finethread stud and nut, and a swivel. just fit it into the hole and be sure it wont hit the barrel. easy money.

fred may bring some G! web slings to the shoot, if so get one ASAP when you get there. you will need 1 1/2 inch swivels.

I'll see if Gander Mountain has those swivels tomorrow. In the meantime I discovered an SKS sling packed away in a corner.
