Did eurooptic extend the free stock it says December 31. I'm trying to see where one of these will fit in for me, it is heavy but I don't have the range to need a heavy rifle. I do want to try one of the European type pistol grip stocks, there the only ones I've thought looked good. If they did a mauser m18 in one is get that, not sure if Sauer does a 100 in a thumb hole or at least for here.

Yes, they extended the promotion, and not just Eurooptic. It's a Sako promotion.

The S20 is the finest factory rifle I’ve ever owned! In fact it might well be the most accurate rifle I own. What an incredible gun for the money! I think I need one in .300 now. But I’ll wait to see if they do a .300 PRC and in a lighter maybe a carbon version.

I posted a table showing the weights of various components earlier in the thread. The Precision butt stock and forend are heavier than the Hunter versions that I list. In order for Sako to significantly reduce weight they'd have to lighten the barreled action and/or the butt stock. I don't see that happening. Also, I don't see the 300 PRC fitting in the action to the point that it would make it worthwhile. Bottom line, I think this is all she wrote on the S20 in terms of second generation offerings.

I shot seven rounds of Hornady 143gr ELD-X at the 500 yard target. First five shots look to be around 0.5 moa but shot #6 went right and #7 went high. Shooter error, load error or a combination of both, I'm not sure. The 143gr ELD-X shoots about the same as it does in the Kimber, not terrible, not great but certainly good enough for many hunting scenarios. Overall I'm impressed with this rifle and look forward to working up a load for it once the Redding dies show up.

No excuses here but from day one the target has been partially obscured by some fir tree branches and was for the group below. That's no longer an issue so I can now see the entire plate from my shooting position vs. 50% of it.

I'm going to clean the rifle tomorrow to see if there's much copper in the bore and then maybe I'll check zero at 100 yards with 147gr ELD Match followed by one shot on steel at 200, 400, 500 and 700 yards to see how it does. Then I'll leave it alone until I can work up a load for it.

First post here,
I have a Sako S20 Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor (I know yours is a 6.5 PRC). I went out on March 19th, 2022 for initial barrel break in. A slow drawn out process (all day). I have attached a picture of my #40-#44 shots. 5 shot group, .52" 100 yards group (Hornady Match 140 grain ELD-M). The range I shoot at in Colorado is at 4650 ft. elevation. I was able to go out again on March 20, 2022 and shot out to 1190 yards (37.75 moa) with hits on a 12" steel (6mph wind hold). Scope is a Arken EP-5 5-25x56 ffp. With Nightforce Ultralight 34mm rings).
Overall I am very pleased with the quality of the Sako S20. My S20 Precision came with the fluted barrel. Total loaded weight is 12.5lbs. I have a Tikke T3X varmint .223 (shot out to 1000 yards) and a Savage Elite Precision 300PRC (shot out to 2000 yards) at the Cameo Shooting Complex range located in Cameo Colorado.
Good comments and thanks for sharing your Sako S20 experiences.

Congratulations! I have two S20s with both types of stocks for both, if that makes sense. In the spirit of full disclosure, the 6.5 PRC shot incredibly well from the get go but the .308 Win with 20" barrel hasn't really performed the way I expected. I've been using a SilcencerCo QD brake and suppressor but bought a couple of Thunder Beast Arms Co suppressors and QD brakes so will switch out the SilencerCo stuff to see if it's the issue. Overall I'm pleased with both S20s and would buy at least one again.

I logged in to Cabela's and the ad says none of them are available...maybe sold out? I've really liked these rifles for a long time, but the stars have not aligned yet. I have two other rifles on backorder. When I saw the clearance price on these Cabela's rifles I tried to jump on it....stars are still not aligned.

I'm really digging mine, it's one of two rifles that I bought in the last 10 years that I haven't felt the need to tinker with.

I'd like 2 in more barrel, But other than that, I think it's just about perfect for what I want to do with a Belted Magnum.

One thing I have noticed is that I much prefer the "precision" style for end, But I go back and forth on them stocks fairly regularly.

I'll also say mine isn't stupendously accurate, But it's plenty good enough. Its generally running right around minute of angle with most of the stuff I've run through it.
When I could find some new 7 mag brass I'll work on actually seeing what it'll do.

What "flavor" did you order?

6.5 creedmoor in the precision furniture.

I started the paperwork yesterday at the local shop and was able to view it(Illinois-still a waiting period). It appeared to be in perfect order.

I was a little concerned with ordering a demo/scratch and dent rifle sight unseen. But $500 off is worth the risk sometimes.

How did you do that? I called Cabela's and the CS rep said it could not be ordered online and I'd have to pick it up at the store. Fine I say, "What store? I'm in KC, that store?" She doesn't know and does not know how to find out. I persisted and figure there must be a way to find which store has the rifles. So I have to find out on THR?? Weird!!

I just ordered it from Cabelas website. I had to choose the ship to store option and told them what store to use. They shipped it in and sent an email when it arrived saying to come in for the paperwork. The box did have Bass Pro stickers on it, so I assume it started there.

As for the demo scratch/dent aspect. It was missing the thumb rest. Not bad to get $500 off a gun for a broken $20 part.
