Given the same model gun, same barrel length, one 9mm the other .45, can you expect the same accuracy at 10 to 15 yards? The reason I'm asking is I have a Stoeger Cougar 9mm that's very accurate at 15 yds and I'm considering buying the same pistol in .45 cal. I'm not familiar with the shooting characteristics of a .45 at all.

In general, many would consider .45 ACP ammo to be more accurate then 9mm ammo.
Due in most part to many many years of Bullseye match shooting & load development with the .45 ACP 1911 Colt target guns.

That doesn't mean that everyone can stand on their hind legs and shoot it better though.
It does recoil more then 9mm so you have to get past that to get better accuracy.

Combat grade accuracy is about the best you can expect out of a combat grade gun like the Couger. It isn't a Match pistol, so I would think one caliber should shoot as well as the other in it.

Yes it does...Finally getting back on the range regularly switching between the two; it makes a difference. However, on deliberate slow-fire I think you'll be able to make the discrepancy miniscule...Follow-up shots during rapid-fire gives the 9mm the edge....To a pro, not a problem...:)
