I've been wanting to get into reloading for a while and received a Lee 50th Anniversary kit for Christmas from my girlfriend. Included with that was 2 Lee Collect die sets (yellow box) for 7mm Mag and 300 Win Mag. I have a couple of questions about what type of stuff to include in the near future.

I need a powder that is capable of use in .270, 7mm Rem Mag, and 300 Win Mag. Anyone load for these 3 with the same powder?

Should I invest in a bullet crimp die? If so, what are the benefits of one?

.270 = H4831 powder for heavier bullets.

Both belted mags = H4831 powder will work well with most bullet weights.

There is no real need, or reason to crimp for use in bolt action rifle's in those calibers unless you just feel the urge.

Some bullets you may want to use don't have a crimp cannelure and should not be crimped anyway.

Looks good to me. Looked on Hodgdons website at some of their loads and such. Wanting right at 3,000 fps in each. Looks to be easily obtained with this powder.

There's several powders that will do duty for all of your calibers.
Rel-19, and Rel-22 work very well, as will IMR7828 and of course any version of the 4831 powders as mentioned.

The advice I've read all seems pretty good. I just have one more word of it for you. Don't let a girl friend like that get away.
