Got a Pedersoli "Q" down under '74 Sharps in 45-70 this year.
This is a great and heavy rifle.
Came back from trying it out in the desert earlier today and was able to hit car size rocks at 6-700 yards.
My Holy Black cartridges did fairly well in her.

Very nice looking gun. You must be proud of it. I just put a long range peep sight on my RB. Wish I had a place to shoot it. At the club a 200 yard range is it.

What a great looking rifle! Congratulations!! I have an old Navy Arms Rolling Block and an H&R break action in 45-70. They both shoot better than I can. But I've lusted for a Quigley Sharps ever since I saw the movie. There's something satisfying about shooting those BP cartridges.

Hmmm. Time to start next year's list for Santa.

As an aside, all you need now is a chamber reamer and some brass and patience to create a .45-90, a .45-100, a .45-110, and the ultimate .45-120.

Very beautiful gun, sir! I am drooling!

Congrats on what is a truly outstanding Christmas present! Good to hear it's a real shooter too!

Thx all.
Took me more ammunition than id like to admit to connect with those rocks out in the desert.

I'd like to turn it into a 45-110 at some point.
I've got about 5 pieces of -120 brass.

There is something to be said about blasting rocks that made an obscene gesture with a large bullet. Makes me want to get my rolling block out and burn some powder. Also makes me miss Arizona. Nice Sharps, jealous.

When I got my first trapdoor and bought a box of 20 rounds: 30 seconds later I made up my mind to reload for my rifles, and that i had to cast my own projectiles.

I can load my own for about .40 cents and am starting to get rather good at consistency now. So much for paying 30 dollars for a old box of 45-70 years ago. And I still have the brass from that box.

Now I just need a 500+ grain mold to really make her shinem
