My budy just got a Boyd's JRS to replace his synthetic stock on his 110. The old front stock screw appears to be too short. Anybody know what he needs to get and from where?

Also, any suggestion about bedding the thing? Around the recoil lug?

Savage uses longer screws for the laminate wood stocks on the target rifles. See if you can order them from their parts department. I have come to prefer Brownells Steelbed over anything else I`ve tried, they might also have the screws you need. Regards

and on a savage, they respond well to bedding the recoil lug from about where the shoulder of a chambered cartridge would be back to the mag cutout. anything more isn't really necessary, and may possibly be detrimental.
