After much too'ing and fro'ing with the stockmaker I finally finished it. It's a Savage 12FV in .243, Weaver Grand Slam 6.5-20, Sharpshooter Supply LVT stock. I left the stock light rather than staining it, because my wife told me to, so no complaining, she said I already had too many dark brown guns.

For all the trouble the stock is very nicely made, palm swell on both sides, and a good butt hook to hold with your off hand. The forend shape should ride bags well also, although I always use the bipod with this rifle.

Very nice, I like that stock. I have a long action in .30-06 that I've been thinking of making into a precision rifle. Maybe in .300 Win Mag. I might have to look into the same stock as you have.

They were advertising 8 weeks, mine took 15 for the first one, and the stock was cut wrong (drilled the action screws at the wrong length) the first time. I will say the second one was faster, arrived in about 10 days. They also offer an adjustable cheekpiece on this one, in a wide range of colors. And it comes pillar bedded.

Very nice job!!!! Even though my 12BVSS has a factory laminated stock I have also considered a SSS benchrest stock. I like the Weaver Grand Slam too. Had one but the target dot was smaller than I realized but optically the scope was excellent.
