Savage .223/.243 Factory Scope Good Or Bad?

I am considering a new savage package rifle in .223 or .243 with a factory mounted scope for $499 which I would use primarily for target maybe hunting, anyway, how good is the factory scope on these guns?

I know the .243 of the two would be a better deer rifle but like I said, mostly a plinker.

I avoid package guns for the simple reason that they all come with the cheapest most craptastic optics and mounts mankind has yet devised
